I really don't mind the fact that we took a chance on Zumaya. but now that he's out, how are we going to respond?<br /><br />"John Bonnes writes here about the gamble that Terry Ryan took in leaning on Zumaya alone to improve the bullpen. I think the Twins' took a similar stance by relying on less-than-solid players at most other positions."<br /><br />YES YES YES! This is where I'd love to see the Terry Ryan and the rest of the managerial staff make some bold moves to show that the Twins are truly trying to compete in 2012. I think the Zumaya signing was a lame attempt to show we're trying to make improvements. The Twins are classic thrift store shoppers. notorious for picking through the racks looking for a good deal. even if you find the best thing at the thrift store, you have to remember that you bought it at a thrift store. sure, maybe we got a "good deal" on Matt Capps and Jamey Carrol. Minneapolis is a large enough market to bring in good players and put a solid product on the field year in and year out. so far, i don't think we've done that. it's been a rough off season for us...RJMhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12977377943386844771noreply@blogger.com
